Its overdue time for a journal update.....

The easter break is upon us and its a 'belter' this year, my kids are off school for almost a damn month due to the easter holiday's not being at easter; 2 weeks off school, then back for 4 days THEN its the easter long weekend, followed by the bullshit that is the royal wedding and the extra holidays it has forced upon us. As usual the Scottish weather is pathetic so there isn't much I can do with the kids that doesn't involve paying a fortune and putting up with crowds of other people's kids.

The better news is I am off college for that same time and have plenty of time for creating some pieces (well when I say plenty of time...I do have a pile of assignments to complete). I may also use this time to go back over a number of deviations that I wasn't entirely happy with and fix/change them.



I am still plugging a friend of mine's PC support service (for windows users). Its a UK based, pay as you go support service called Gotapal.
It has even been recently featured on Cris Evan's breakfast show on the radio.

I know 5 months ago I said I was going to make some more effort to be more active as far as my rendering and dA was concerned... then proceeded to remain as inactive as I had been for almost a year before then. Damned World of Warcraft is such an addiction, it should have a legal classification like smack or coke (there are ACTUALLY support services for WoW addicts), of course being a pretty decent player in a highly ranked guild on the realm I play (for those in the know... my profile just to show gear and achievements can be seen on the armory eu.wowarmory.com/character-she… ) on doesn't help.

About 2 weeks ago I decided to take a much needed break and have tested the water with the withdrawl by simply just not playing to start with and I must say I have only logged into the game 5 or 6 times for 5 mins maximum, not actually 'played'. I took it one step further and purchased a few months sub on dA once again ( I am Scottish and often fit into the 'scrooge' or 'miser' category) I hate to waste money so buying the subscription should ensure I actually make use of that time.

The only problem now is I feel pretty damn rusty with the 3D landscape stuff as well as having Azeroth, Outlands and Northrend so firmly imprinted on my brain (literally know every inch of that entire, and very very vast world) that the ideas are a little lacking as far as landscapes go.

But I shall prevail, this time I mean it. I said I would give up smoking tobacco after 20+ years smoking and I did... cold turkey too (mainly becasue those damn patches will NOT stay lit), so I can give up WoW too (maybe)

I thought it was definitely overdue that I update my page, its been beginning to look like I had abandoned the place. I have stopped in from time to time and checked out my watched deviants submissions, but far from being very active.

As mentioned in my previous post life is a little busy for me; work, 4 kids, other family matters, and an unhealthy addiction to World of Warcraft on top of other things but I do still open up my favourite 3D application, Vue, and have a brief hour or two per week messing around with ideas, most of which don't get very far.

I feel as if I am playing catch up now, it only seems like a few weeks ago Vue released version 7 and I upgraded but now there's version 8 (sigh). I doubt I'll be upgrading any time soon, its an expense I can't really afford at this time, but nevermind v7 is still perfectly viable.

Anyway enough waffling- I've uploaded a couple of newer renders, the best of a bad bunch lol. I really must spend just a little less time in WoW when i get time on the PC and give a little more to Vue once again, I really miss the enjoyment of using the program, or the satisfaction of creating a new scene, even if my results are a pile of crap.
